Successful Entrepreneur = Pirate + Navy Seal

I am attending Emerging Worlds at MIT Media Lab as I write this.

Steve Jobs once said, “It’s more fun to be a pirate than to join the navy”.

Came across an interesting slide that takes a cue from this during the presentation of Bill Aulet.

The Troops Eat First

Came across this beautiful sentence.

The Troops Eat First, Officers Eat Last. This is an undisputed quality of a great leader.

It reminds me of Simon Sinek‘s book called Leaders Eat Last. The same sentiment. In fact during a conversation about the book between Simon & a Marine Corps General, the General said – Officers Eat Last.

A great leader always cares for his people. Just like a just King always puts his people first.
It’s the same principle why the companies who don’t have ‘people first’ attitude fail more often than not.

Video: Clouds Over Sidra
Description: The Zaatari Refugee Camp is home to 130,000 Syrians fleeing violence and war. Children make up half the camp’s population. This is the story of Sidra, a 12-year old girl who has spent the last 18 months in Zaatari.
I’d suggest to watch this with Google Cardboard or Oculus/Vive, but if you don’t have that, watch it on mobile to get a decent 360 degree experience instead of on a PC.
